Floral Embroidered Shorts

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Had a bit of a slow start today with a 4 hour work shift. Usually I have this shift by myself but this morning they put 3 people on so there was really not much to do. On the upside, we got to all chat which was nice.

This evening I'm going to Beautiful the Musical, which I'm super excited about! I've listened to the soundtrack soooo many times. Also really keen for tomorrow - going to some Christmas markets with Tashi.

Have a great night and speak tomorrow!

19 things I've learnt in 19 years

This year was my first year out of school and I've been thinking a lot about what's important to me, what my beliefs are and what I stand for. In thinking about these things, I've reflected over what I have learnt in my 19 years of life, and compiled them all into a list to share with you! I'd love to know if any of these stick out for you or even if there's something that you've learnt (that I haven't mentioned here).

19 things I've learnt in 19 years (give or take a few)
  • Pay more attention to your thoughts. What you're thinking is what you're attracting.
  • Not everyone thinks the same way you think.
  • You're feelings are always valid. You're allowed to feel them and you can take as much time as you need to heal.
  • What you give power to, has power over you.
  • The most beautiful things in life are moments and feelings.
  • Some things will never go back to how they used to be, and that's okay.
  • Talk to yourself in the same way you would talk to someone else that you love.
  • You can't find happiness in other people.
  • Do more of what makes you happy.
  • It's okay to fail.
  • Spend time with your family.
  • It's okay to ask for help
  • Talk about yourself less
  • Always stay true to yourself and your beliefs.
  • Exercise more often, even if it feels like a chore
  • Debt isn't worth it
  • Holding onto a grudge is like injecting yourself with poison every day
  • This too shall pass
  • You aren't always right
  • You can't control others
  • Make peace with your past
  • What other people think of you is none of your business
  • Let go of striving for perfection
  • Engage in acts of kindness as often as possible
  • Never send an email to/ have a conversation with something you're angry with. Wait until you have processed your emotions.

How to: Start a Bullet Journal | part III

My most viewed blog post ever is How to: Start a Bullet Journal, and so today I'm going to show you my bullet journal planner set-up for 2018. I already have done a part 2 which you can view here, so this is part 3 of my bullet journal series.

Now I'll have to admit, it's been a few months since I last journaled, a big reason being that I lost it. A few weeks ago, my brother found it at the bottom of a drawer so I've been very excited to start again!

For my 2018 set-up, I haven't done too many pages as I just wanted to keep it simple. Additionally, any pages you forget can just be added in later and then indexed! The spreads I have done so far are: 2018 page, January page, January planner, January expenses, to-do list, gratitude log and a habit tracker. I've been journaling for a while now so I know these are the pages I typically use each month. If I notice I haven't been using one, I won't draw it up for the following month - and maybe even add a new one in to try.

I get a lot of my inspiration from Pinterest as well as Instagram accounts dedicated to bujo (bullet journals). Typically, I will journal every night, so I can fill in any trackers/ logs and do a quick set-up for the following day. The reason I don't just set up every day at the start of the week is that some days I use a whole page and some days I need a few lines.

Hopefully you find some inspiration from this post for your own planner or bullet journal!

Tonight I'm headed to a celebratory dinner for my brother who has just finished primary school. Have a lovely evening!

MCA: Sip my Ocean

Last week, Tashi and I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art to see 'Pipilotti Rist: Sip my Ocean.' There were so many wonderful displays of light and colour. We took aLOT of photos but I managed to cut it down to under 15. My 3 favourite parts were the first room that had these beautiful hanging lights that changed colour. We spent the most time here and got some weird looks from the security guard... Then we headed to a room filled with hanging fabric, that had colourful projections onto them. We played around with shadows as I danced around behind them. Finally, we headed to a room that was set out similar to a house with different furniture. It was fun to lie on the bed, while lights similar to a Milky Way pattern were projected onto me.

This week has been so much fun so far! Monday night I had some drinks and dinner with friends, then met up with some other uni friends to see Murder on the Orient Express. On Tuesday I went to see Muriel's Wedding the Musical with my grandparents, auntie and cousin from Melbourne. It was so much fun!! Yesterday I caught up with an old school friend and we walked from Bondi to Bronte together. Last night, I went with some people to see the Star Wars Premier which was amazing!

I'm off now to go and cook sushi for my family.
Have a wonderful night and hope you're having a lovely December so far.

Tea Time

Even though I live in Australia where we enjoy 30 degree plus days all through Summer, I like to pretend that it's Winter and snuggle under my doona sipping a hot beverage. This year, I rediscovered my love of tea - thanks to my boyfriend's mum who has the most insane tea collection! Seriously, I feel like I'm in the T2 store whenever I'm at their place. Some of the flavours from T2 I have been LOVING are:

  • Black rose
  • Sencha peach
  • Banana bake + caramel brownie (mixed together with some milk)
  • Any type of chai
  • Turkish apple
  • Christmas Breakfast

Let me know what your favourite drink is (and if it's tea, what flavour)!

How I turn ideas into content

Today I wanted to share the process with you of how I create blog posts - from the initial planning and idea to posting it and sharing on social media.

Step 1: Ideas
If you look through the notes section of my phone, you will find endless lists. Whenever I have ideas/ concepts for photos/ blog content I will write it down so that when I actually go to create, I have lots of ideas I've collected over time.

Step 2: Planning
On my computer I have a calendar for everything blog related. I find the ideas on my list that stick out and plan when I have time to shoot them. Often that involved messaging my friend Tashi to find a day to go to some cool locations for photos.

Step 3: Shoot
I'll usually spend 1-2 days shooting several posts, rather than taking a few hours to shoot one. If I'm shooting outfits, I always plan them out beforehand, and sometimes the locations.

Step 4: Edit
After I import all the photos (usually over 500), I'll sort them into photos for blog posts, photos for Instagram and then ones I don't want. I'll then cut down the photos I like so that there aren't too many per post. I first edit my photos in photoshop - adjust brightness, contrast, vibrance, saturation, curves, hue, colour balance etc until I'm happy with them.

Step 5: Planning my Instagram
Using dropbox, I transfer photos from my computer to my phone. After they are uploaded to the app UNUM, I plan my feed until I'm happy with it.

Step 6: Sharing the blog post
Step 6: I'll then upload them to Instagram, usually when the corresponding blog post is up. I also post on snapchat to let people know about the new post. I've always found it best to focus one fewer social media platforms because then I can put more time into each one.

I hope you found this post helpful - if you run your own blog/ planning on starting one or interesting if you just wanted a peak into the world of blogging.

Have a great night!
Speak tomorrow,

Apologies that today's post is a little late, I rushed home from work, tidied my room and then headed straight out again to a friend's place. Work was actually quite fun today - met some interesting people... Multiple guys asked me to check the underwear size (that they were wearing)?!?!?! My friend also came to visit and she chatted to me while I did the clothing returns. For my lunch break, I went to my favourite udon restaurant (under $4 for a bowl of udon)!!

The upcoming week is a busy one, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to 2 musicals, Christmas markets, a midnight movie premier and seeing another movie with some friends. I'm also having a Christmukkah party (Christmas and Hanukkah) with my family.

Also going to have to squeeze in time to shoot some more blog posts for BLOGMAS!

Speak tomorrow!
